The first time that i saw the catsbrothers project i thought that was an amazing one, you know, rap, hip hop and colors, all pretty good stuff, don’t you?  Then a week ago we’ve discovered that the Cats brothers creations has been part of the Beyonce video (XO), and Jourdan Dunn, famous super model has one of their t-shirt. In addition Beyonce wear one of the Cats brothers‘ hat on the video. Now thanks to the new project you can pre-order the new pieces directly from the designer, even before Beyonce…

Pre-orders start from 60£.

Read the full project’s description below.

CATS IN HATS is a capsule accessory collection designed exclusively for WOWCRACY to showcase and complement the Cats Brothers CRAZY HOMIES A/W 14 knitwear collection. Cats Brothers is a woolly collaboration between two experienced knitwear designers, Lindsay McKean and Anna Wilkinson. Anna and Lindsay met each other when both working for a textile design studio in West London. Here they discovered that knitting wasn’t all they had in common…they also shared a rather niche sense of humour and appreciation of hip hop. Cats Brothers’ debut collection, Crazy Homies, was born from a mutual love of Snoop Dogg, latino street culture and iconography, and fuelled by margaritas – on the rocks, with salt (Lindsay), without salt (Anna). It was launched on 1st November (the Mexican Day of the Dead) 2012 and went on to be stocked exclusively in Browns Focus. They have since designed Crazy Homies Part Deux, the woolier, fluffier A/W version of the original collection.

Here at Cats Brothers HQ we pride ourselves on our technical hand-craft skills and techniques – not simply designers, we are knitters, crocheters, embroiderers and beaders.

We make everything ourselves in our studio in Hackney. Our garments start life as balls of yarn and we knit them all from scratch by hand or on our hand-manipulated machines. We do what we can ourselves, if we don’t know how to, then we try to learn. There are so many hand-craft techniques to be learned and we try to push ourselves to explore new techniques and gain new skills in our efforts to create more intricate fabrics and designs.

We were lucky to have Vogue attend the launch of our first collection in our friend’s jewellery store in east London, and by the following week we had been invited to show CRAZY HOMIES to the full fashion team in Vogue House, who then in turn put us in touch with Browns Focus where we are still stocked today into our 2nd collection. Thanks to the exposure we have enjoyed through Browns Focus we have gained an international reputation and fan-base, the most flattering of which was spotting Jordan Dunn in one of our Tupac t-shirts in Beyonce’s XO video!
